Introduction

Thumbay Laboratory, Fujairah is the pride of this hospital. The laboratory department provides excellent clinical services to inpatients, outpatient departments, and walk-in patients who directly avail laboratory services. Our services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We ensure accurate reporting within defined turnaround time (TAT). Urgent tests are released within urgent TAT as per departmental policy.

Overview

The department has grown from a small laboratory to a fully automated facility equipped with highly advanced instruments. An interfacing system between the hospital and laboratory has been implemented using barcoding, which improves patient and sample identification.

This system enhances verification and communication of life-threatening or life-altering information related to infections and critical results. Timely and precise communication of test results forms the foundation of diagnosis and treatment. Effective management of test orders and results ensures accuracy and efficiency for a wide variety of clients.

The laboratory has applied for the CAP accreditation program, one of the leading accreditation programs for laboratories. This accreditation will further establish our laboratory as a reference lab and enhance competitiveness.
