The Department of Ophthalmology is the pride of this hospital. We believe that the success of our department is measured by the quality of clinical care we provide to our patients. Our department provides excellent clinical services to all patients.
Overview
The department has grown from a small unit to a comprehensive Ophthalmology department providing outpatient (including specialty clinics), inpatient, emergency services, and operative services including minimal access surgery.
Departmental faculty provides education to students as well as to the community by imparting health knowledge. Clinicians in the department are actively involved in continuous professional development, including research activities, which contribute to departmental growth.

- Full ocular examination
- Visual field test for all ophthalmic and neurological problems
- Computerized testing for refractive errors
- Surgeries including cataract, glaucoma, squint, lid problems, retinal detachments, and minor procedures
- Foreign body removal
- Chalazion treatment
- Pterygium excision
Academics & Research
Our department provides education for MBBS students of Gulf Medical University, Ajman, UAE, and actively participates in academic and research activities.
