Introduction

The Accident and Emergency Department at Thumbay Hospital, Ajman serves 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have a varied blend of general specialists and junior specialists who pander to patients with a heap of conditions and also offering quick treatment and evaluation to intense crisis conditions.

Overview

The Emergency Department is a condition of-the-craftsmanship division that has a devoted gathering of specialists who are adapted to offer the best administrations to patients who need intense and new care, and also offer convenient exhortation and course to patients who need further administration, either as an inpatient or on an outpatient premise.

Department Services

We are an Emergency Department that assesses and treats patients who have suffered a recent injury or accident, or who have developed a sudden illness. Manned by General Practitioners and Junior Specialists who are constantly ‎on hand to treat life-threatening illnesses and critically injured patients, the state-of-the art unit is open 24 hours and seven days a week. To ensure timely treatment and patient flow, we utilize a triage system where the most seriously ill patients are seen first.

The Main Emergency Department (ED) has 8 ED beds which caters to patients belonging to the less severe categories of patients.

The department also has three beds for trauma and two beds for resuscitation.

Two clinic rooms serve as the central node where doctors can work from. Patients can also use the spacious waiting area before they can be seen.

Academics

Our department caters to a number of students who come for their clerkships to our department. We have a dedicated tutor who nurtures these students and offers hands-on experience in the Emergency Department in simple procedures to boost their practical confidence. Students are also allowed to take history and perform physical examination (for consenting patients) under the apt guidance and supervision of the tutor.
